I received a package from Japan in the mail today:

Mysterious package

Great, I hear you say ... but who's it from? A few months ago I posted about the final year project I was working on. It is now all done and has been handed in (woohoo!) but the package above was an interesting side effect.

A guy called Hiroto wrote to me shortly after I published my Marching Cubes code on GitHub thanking me for making it publicly available. I thought it was kind of him to say so, but it turns out he used the code to create these awesome 3D fractals. He then used the fractals to create the album artwork for a few japanese indie bands. I replied to Hiroto to tell him I thought it was cool and he generously offered to send me the CDs when they were released. So that's what was in the package!

CDs!

Anyway, it was nice for someone from the internets to send me something. It made my day.
